About Us

Founded in 2019, KIPP Woodson Park Academy was the 10th KIPP Atlanta school to open. Unlike the other KIPP Atlanta schools, KIPP Woodson Park Academy is a unique partnership with Atlanta Public Schools. In 2019, KIPP assumed operations of Woodson Park, a K-5 school that was a combination of the former Grove Park Elementary School and the former Woodson Intermediate, in the Grove Park neighborhood. KIPP Woodson Park Academy, now a K-8 school, serves as the zoned school for any students who live in the neighborhood and functions as a traditional public school in regards to enrollment.

The history of KIPP Woodson Park Academy is rich and our school culture is rooted in resiliency and pride in our beloved community. Our students are the legacy of community members who have resided in Grove Park for decades. At KIPP Woodson Park Academy, we are committed to fostering love and openness and ensuring our students receive the academically excellent education and support they deserve.
