Tanaya Washington serves as Principal of grades K-8 at KIPP Vision Campus. She is an experienced educator and leader with over 15 years of dedication to fostering educational equity and scholar success. She most recently served as the Deputy Principal at KIPP WAYS Academy, where she progressed through diverse roles such as Teacher, Math Interventionist, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal-in-Residence. Recognized for her excellence in teaching and leadership, Tanaya was named Teacher of the Year in 2016 and was sought after by the KIPP Foundation for her expertise in Math Instructional Coaching, contributing to national professional development initiatives.
A proud alumna of KIPP Academy in the Bronx, NY, and Spelman College with a B.A. in Economics, Tanaya has continually honed her leadership skills through prestigious KIPP leadership programs, including the Teacher Leader, Leadership Team, Instructional Coaching, and Principal-in-Residence cohorts.
