KIPP Atlanta Schools Continues Academic Momentum in 

2026 Georgia Milestones Results

Continued academic progress reflects KIPP Atlanta Schools’ commitment to excellence and scholar success.

 

ATLANTA – KIPP Atlanta Schools today announced strong results from the Spring 2026 Georgia Milestones assessments, demonstrating continued academic growth across the region and significant year-over-year gains in multiple subjects and grade levels.

Math results across End-of-Grade and End-of-Course assessments reached another post-pandemic high, approaching pre-pandemic levels of proficiency, while Algebra I achievement reached an all-time high. The results also show continued gains in Science and Social Studies and significant improvement across all available high school End-of-Course assessments.

English Language Arts results will be released later this year. Unless otherwise noted, proficiency refers to scholars scoring in Proficient & Above categories. 

Regional Performance Highlights:

  • Since Spring 2022, Math End-of-Grade performance has increased by more than 16 percentage points for scholars scoring Proficient & Above and by 24 percentage points for scholars scoring Developing & Above.
  • Science proficiency among fifth- and eighth-grade scholars increased by nearly 4 percentage points from last year.
  • Eighth-grade Social Studies proficiency increased by nearly 10 percentage points year-over-year.
  • Four KIPP Atlanta schools, KIPP Woodson Park Academy, KIPP WAYS Academy, KIPP Vision Academy, and KIPP South Fulton Academy, had more than 70% of scholars achieve Typical or High growth in Math, with KIPP Vision Academy leading the region at 85.7%.
  • Significant increases occurred across all available End-of-Course assessments, including a 9-point increase in U.S. History proficiency and an 10-point increase in Algebra I proficiency.

As we move forward with our 2030 Strategic Plan, Excellent Schools, Expansive Futures, this progress reinforces what we know is possible when we maintain high expectations and provide every scholar with the support and opportunities they need to thrive.”

Standout Achievements Include:

  • Fourth grade Math proficiency increased by more than 8 percentage points regionally from last year.
  • Eighth grade Math results (including Algebra) for scholars scoring in the Proficient & Above achievement levels increased by more than 7 percentage points regionally, and these scholars met both the Proficient & Above and Developing & Above regional goals in Math (35% and 70%, respectively).
  • Scholars with disabilities also showed consistent improvement, with proficiency increasing from less than 2% to nearly 9%. 
  • Algebra I proficiency at KIPP Atlanta Collegiate increased by more than 10 percentage points, reaching an all-time high.
  • U.S. History proficiency increased by 8 percentage points year-over-year.
  • Scholars scoring Developing & Above in Biology increased by more than 10 percentage points compared with last year.
  • Four KIPP Atlanta schools, KIPP Soul Primary, KIPP South Fulton Academy, KIPP STRIVE Primary & KIPP Woodson Park Academy, met the regional Proficient & Above goal of 35% on the fifth-grade Science assessment.

The results reflect KIPP Atlanta Schools’ continued focus on academic excellence, high-quality instruction, aligned curriculum, data-driven decision-making, and targeted support for scholars and educators. They also provide important momentum as the organization begins implementing its KIPP ATL 2030 Strategic Plan, Excellent Schools, Expansive Futures, which establishes the organization’s priorities for strengthening schools and expanding opportunities for scholars over the next several years.
