We are thrilled to celebrate the success of this year’s Umoja production, a breathtaking showcase of talent, creativity, and cultural pride that inspired and uplifted our entire KIPP ATL community.
From the moment our scholars took the stage, Umoja transported us through a vibrant journey of movement and meaning. Scholars graced the stage with passion and precision, performing various dance genres from contemporary to traditional, hip hop to lyrical, highlighting the depth of their training and the diversity of their artistic expression. The execution was phenomenal, a testament to the hard work, discipline, and heart poured into every performance.
More than a show, Umoja reflected the love, brilliance, and intentionality that our performing arts educators pour into their classrooms every day. Our scholars’ energy, pride, and joy were direct reflections of the educators who guide them and the surrounding community.
A special thank you goes to Sparkle Morton and Terri Knox, the visionary educators behind this annual tradition. They have nurtured Umoja into a signature celebration of Black excellence and youth creativity for over a decade. Their leadership and artistic direction continue to raise the bar year after year.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the volunteers who helped welcome guests, manage logistics, and create a seamless experience for all. Your warmth and service helped make this event truly special.
To our incredible Enrichment APs and DOOs thank you for your behind-the-scenes coordination, ensuring our scholars had nourishing meals and every costume piece in place. Your support was essential to bringing this production to life.
Umoja is a labor of love and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we come together as a community to celebrate our culture and our scholars. Thank you to everyone who helped create this magical moment.
