KIPP South Fulton Academy Named 2026 Title I Reward School, Ranking Among Georgia’s Top 5% for Academic Progress

Fulton County Schools Board of Education recognizes KIPP South Fulton Academy for exceptional growth in academic growth and scholar achievement.

ATLANTA, GA – October 30, 2026 – KIPP Atlanta Schools proudly celebrates KIPP South Fulton County announces that KIPP South Fulton Academy (KSFA) has been named a 2026 Title I Reward School by the Georgia Department of Education’s Office of Federal Programs, recognizing the school’s exceptional progress in improving academic performance for all scholars.

This distinction recognizes KIPP South Fulton Academy’s significant gains in scholar achievement and reflects the power of excellent instruction, high expectations, and a school community united in its commitment to helping every scholar succeed.

KIPP South Fulton Academy was among 15 Fulton County schools recognized during the Fulton County Schools Board of Education meeting on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

The prestigious Title I Reward School designation recognizes the top 5% of Title I schools across Georgia demonstrating the greatest progress in improving scholar performance. The distinction is determined by comparing content mastery scores from the two most recent years of reported statewide assessment data, highlighting schools that have made significant strides in academic achievement.

“This recognition is a powerful reflection of what’s possible when high expectations, excellent instruction, and a deep commitment to scholars come together,” said Dr. Michael Cormack Jr., Chief Executive Officer of KIPP Atlanta Schools. “At KIPP Atlanta, we believe every scholar deserves access to an excellent education that prepares them for a future filled with opportunity. KIPP South Fulton Academy’s achievement demonstrates the meaningful progress we’re making toward that promise and reinforces our commitment to academic excellence across our region.”

At the heart of this accomplishment are the scholars whose hard work drives academic progress, the educators and school leaders who challenge and support them every day, and the families whose partnership helps make that success possible. Together, they have built a learning community where high expectations are matched by meaningful support and a shared belief in every scholar’s potential.

“Being recognized as a Title I Reward School is an incredible honor for our entire school community,” said Brandom Jones, Principal of KIPP South Fulton Academy. “Our scholars have worked tremendously hard, and our teachers and staff have remained intentional about providing the instruction, support, and encouragement necessary for every scholar to succeed. This recognition belongs to our entire KIPP South Fulton family, and it motivates us to continue raising the bar for academic excellence.”

The achievement also aligns with KIPP Atlanta Schools’ 2030 Strategic Plan, Excellent Schools, Expansive Futures, which establishes ambitious goals to strengthen academic outcomes and expand long-term opportunities for scholars. Central to the plan is a commitment to double the percentage of scholars achieving proficiency or distinction in English Language Arts from 25% to 50% by 2030.
