KIPP Atlanta Schools Celebrates Remarkable Growth Gains in 2022-23 School Year According to Georgia Milestone Results

ATLANTA, GA (August 2023) – The first day of school at KIPP Atlanta Schools is always filled with excitement and anticipation as we welcome back our talented students, dedicated educators, and passionate staff. As we begin this new academic year, we are immensely proud of the transformative work we have undertaken to prepare our KIPPsters for a bright and promising future.

With unwavering commitment to our vision and mission, KIPP Atlanta Schools has achieved remarkable growth gains during the 2022-23 school year, as highlighted by the recent Georgia Milestone results. The exceptional progress demonstrated by our students is a testament to the collective efforts of our entire KIPP Atlanta community, reaffirming our belief that every child should grow up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities.

Throughout the 2022-23 school year, our educators have been wholeheartedly dedicated to nurturing a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and character development. Their tireless efforts, combined with the unwavering support from parents and the broader community, have empowered our students to surpass expectations and unlock their full potential. See a few of our top highlights below:

  • Only 4 high schools across Atlanta Public Schools saw percentage point gains in students performing at proficient or above on the American Literature and Composition Spring End-of-Course assessment when comparing this year to Spring 2022 – and our high school, KIPP Atlanta Collegiate, was 1 of the 4!
  • 58 schools across Atlanta Public Schools saw percentage point gains in students performing at proficient or above on the End-of-Grade ELA assessment when comparing this year to school year 2022. Every single KIPP Atlanta campus is represented on this list!
  • 27 schools saw percentage point gains in students performing at proficient or above on the End-of-Grade Science assessment when comparing this year to school year 2022. KIPP WAYS Academyand KIPP Woodson Park Academy are among the top 10!
  • KIPP South Fulton Academy is the top-performing middle school in South Fulton for Georgia Milestones proficiency in 7th Grade Math, 8th Grade ELA, 8th Grade Math, and 8th Grade Science.
