Why is KIPP Atlanta conducting a CEO search?

The KIPP Atlanta Board of Directors is launching a search for a new CEO as part of a leadership transition that reflects our commitment to continued growth, impact, and excellence across our schools.

Who will manage the KIPP Atlanta CEO search?

The KIPP Atlanta Board has selected Edgility Search to lead our recruitment process. Edgility Search is a trusted partner for mission-driven organizations seeking equity-centered, values-aligned leadership. With a proven track record of placing diverse, high-impact leaders through a customized and data-driven approach, Edgility combines national reach with deep expertise in education and nonprofit sectors. This search will be led by Taylor Bostock, who is a former KIPP Foundation employee and knows KIPP well.

What is the timeline for the CEO search?

The search will officially launch in September 2025. The search process will take several months and is expected to conclude in December 2025. We aim to announce a new CEO by January 2025. We will provide updates about the search periodically throughout the fall.

Who is leading the search process?

The KIPP Atlanta Board of Directors is overseeing the search and has partnered with Edgility Consulting, a national executive search firm with deep experience in the education sector.

Will staff, families, and the community have a voice in the search?

Yes. As part of the “discovery” phase, we are gathering input from key stakeholders—including staff, families, scholars, and partners—to help shape the candidate profile and selection criteria.

What qualities are you looking for in the next CEO?

We are seeking a visionary, equity-driven leader with a deep commitment to scholars, strong organizational leadership experience, and a belief in the power of excellent public education for all.

How will the board ensure transparency and inclusion throughout the process?

We are committed to regular updates and opportunities for engagement. Stakeholder feedback will directly inform the profile, and we plan to involve community members in later stages of the process as appropriate.

Will the current leadership remain in place during the search?

Yes. The existing leadership team, led by the interim CEO (Ra’Chel Ford), will continue to manage day-to-day operations to ensure stability and continuity throughout the search.

How will the final decision be made?

The KIPP Atlanta Board of Directors will make the final hiring decision, informed by input from stakeholders, the search firm’s recommendations, and a rigorous interview process.
