About Stephanie Plessy

Managing Director of Scholar Support

Stephanie oversees the scholar support team and programming for special populations and counseling and social work at KIPP Atlanta. This includes special education, intervention, Section 504, and ESOL supports. Additionally, she leads the region’s Social/Emotional Learning initiative. Prior to this role, Stephanie was the Achievement Director of Scholar Support. She joined KIPP Atlanta in 2015 as the Special Education Coordinator at KIPP Vision Primary School.

Stephanie began her career in education as a special education teacher and Teach for America corps member. She worked in DeKalb county and served as a special education department chair, doubling the special education staffing and supports available to scholars at her school. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Emory University and a Masters degree in Behavior/Learning Disabilities from Georgia State University. Stephanie firmly believes in inclusive and identity affirming education, ensuring all scholars receive the academic and behavioral supports they need to pursue their passions and achieve post-secondary success.
