About Ra’Chel Ford

Chief Operating Officer

Ra’Chel oversees Facilities, Health Services, Insurance, Safety, School Operations, School Nutrition, Technology, and Transportation for KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools. Ra’Chel began her work with KIPP in 2014 as a founding campus director of operations and later as the managing director of operations for the region. Ra’Chel began her career in financial services, spending over 15 years in various leadership positions ranging from sales, team development, and process improvement roles with Bank of America. Ra’Chel was called to education in 2012, working with the Tennessee Department of Education. There she served as the Chief of Staff for District Support, supporting every school district within the state. Ra’Chel earned a B.S. degree in Urban Policy Studies from Georgia State University and an MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix. She is an alumna of the Broad Center’s Urban Educational Leadership Residency, earning a Master of Education in Educational Leadership. Ra’Chel believes that educators can help unlock every child’s innate genius, and it starts with nurturing the love of reading.
