About Michael Davis

Chief Impact Officer

Michael Davis serves as Chief Impact Officer for KIPP Atlanta Schools, a network of tuition-free public charter schools serving more than 5,500 students across Atlanta and East Point. He leads the organization’s partnership, engagement, and community impact strategy, working with scholars, families, educators, and philanthropic, corporate, and civic partners to expand opportunities for every KIPP scholar.

Michael brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across the nonprofit, corporate, and public sectors. He is known as an authentic, trusted connector and collaborative leader, building cross-sector partnerships that mobilize resources and create lasting community impact.

Before joining KIPP Atlanta, Michael served as Deputy Executive Director of the Atlanta Beltline Partnership, providing executive leadership across people, programs, operations, finance, and community engagement. Under his leadership, the Legacy Resident Retention Program expanded by 500%, helping preserve more than $9.2 million in generational wealth for longtime homeowners.

Earlier, he worked as a capital campaign consultant, led a regional economic development partnership, owned a national retail franchise, co-founded a technology startup, and served as a senior leader with Hewlett Packard, leading international operations across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

Michael has co-founded three nonprofits, including one focused on expanding educational opportunities for underserved youth through mentoring and college readiness. He has also served as a graduate-level adjunct professor and on numerous nonprofit and civic boards advancing education and community development.

He practices servant leadership, leading with humility, empathy, and a commitment to helping others reach their full potential. Michael believes education is the foundation for unlocking potential, expanding economic mobility, and building generational wealth for families and communities.

Michael earned his Executive MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia. He is a proud girl dad, a health and wellness enthusiast, and an advocate for green spaces and active communities.
