Managing Director of Operations

Kimberly A. Foster is the Managing Director of Operations for KIPP Atlanta Schools, overseeing Wellness functions focused on health, safety, and nutrition. In this capacity, she ensures that wellness programs effectively support the well-being of students and staff.

Kimberly has been with KIPP Atlanta for 7.5 years, beginning as a regional school nurse and advancing to her current leadership role. She started her pediatric nursing career at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Before joining KIPP, Kimberly was a lung and breast cancer nurse navigator at WellStar Douglas Hospital. She also held several key roles within the state of Georgia, including Director of Quality for Georgia Medicaid, and was instrumental in the development of the Douglas County Child Advocacy Center.

She holds a BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington, a BA from the University of Pittsburgh, and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Kimberly is currently pursuing her doctorate at Georgia State University. She is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma (business) and Theta Sigma Tau (nursing) honor societies. Her career achievements include the 2016 Leadership Douglas cohort and recent selection for the sixth cohort of Families USA’s Health Equity Academy in System Transformation and Providers for REAL (Realizing Equity, Advancing Lives).

Outside of work, Kimberly enjoys reading, visiting the High Museum, and playing Pickleball with her six children. She is also a die-hard Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
