About Joe Arnold, Board Chair

Joe Arnold retired from Truist (formerly SunTrust) in 2021 after a 40-year career with the bank. His last role was leading the Not-For-Profit & Government Banking group. His former team served nonprofit clients which included healthcare, education, social, cultural and faith institutions, as well as state and local governments. Previous roles included leading the bank’s New York Corporate Banking Division, the North Georgia Credit Services Division, and other sales and quality control teams and initiatives.

Throughout his career he has served his community in a number of ways, including through current board service at Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation, John & Mary Franklin Foundation, Georgia GOAL Student Scholarship Organization, KIPP Atlanta Schools, Atlanta Mission, Achieve Atlanta, YMCA of Metro Atlanta (Chairs Board), and Atlanta Area Council – Scouting America (Advisory Board).

Joe obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce with a concentration in finance. Joe is a 2003 Leadership Atlanta graduate. He and his wife have three adult children.
