About Dr. Dawn Beatrice Griffin

Health Communications Specialist

Dawn B. Griffin is a Health Communication Specialist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In her role at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Griffin reports the results of research to various stakeholders via presentations, coordinates with federal agencies on CDC-wide communication products, serves as conference manager for an annual national conference on health communication marketing and media, and represents the CDC at center-wide meetings established to facilitate health communication programs and activities. Dawn was most recently engaged in the COVID-19 emergency response for the agency.

She is a proud graduate of Spelman College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following her undergraduate training, Dawn earned a Master of Science in Public Health from Meharry Medical College and her Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham on full fellowship.
