About Amber Stewart

Managing Director of Talent

Amber Stewart serves as the Managing Director of Talent for KIPP Atlanta Schools, where she provides supportive leadership to ensure execution of the region’s talent strategy with a focus on recruitment, development, retention, and culture-building for a network of 11 schools and over 800 employees. In her current role, Amber oversees the implementation of strategic talent initiatives that ensure KIPP attracts and develops exceptional, mission-aligned educators and staff. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to equity, scholar success, and building joyful school environments where big and little KIPPsters thrive.

Amber returned to KIPP Atlanta Schools after serving as Chief Culture and Strategy Officer at Wellspring Living, a nonprofit supporting survivors of sexual exploitation. There, she oversaw human resources, operations, strategic planning, education services, and institutional expansion while championing leadership development and organizational wellness. Prior to that, she held roles as Executive Director of the Teach On Project (formerly Atlanta Families’ Awards for Excellence in Education) and as Partnerships Manager for Atlanta Public Schools.

Amber began her career in education as a Teach For America corps member and has remained committed to service-driven leadership throughout her journey. She is also the founder of AMZ Restores, LLC, where she provides leadership coaching, restorative practices facilitation, and strengths-based development to schools, nonprofits, and companies.

Amber holds a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism with a Minor in French from Northwestern University (Go ‘Cats!) and is a SHRM-SCP certified HR leader. She also is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and wears her top 5 strengths on her sleeve- Restorative, Positivity, Achiever, Belief and Harmony. Outside of work, she enjoys time at church, home with her husband Mike and their son Easton, and is known for her ability to write backwards in both cursive and print—a fun party trick that reflects her creative spirit.
