About Ali Wilson

Head of Academics

Ali leads our K-12 Academic Team and supports the ongoing development of our school-based teams through comprehensive professional development planning, data analysis, and instructional coach development. Prior to this role, Ali served for five years as the Achievement Director of Secondary Literacy, where she supported literacy teachers and leaders in grades 5-12 across our middle and high schools. She began her career at KIPP in 2014 as a Literacy Coordinator and ESOL teacher at KIPP South Fulton Academy.

Ali began her career in education as a high school English teacher with Teach For America in the Mississippi Delta. Following her initial time in the classroom, Ali coached teachers and ran regional programming for Teach For America’s Greater Nashville region, including leading a region-wide implementation of Teach For America’s English Language Arts framework and serving as a Content Specialist at the first Nashville Summer Institute. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree in reading education with reading specialist and ESOL endorsements from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education. As a learner first and foremost, Ali seeks ways to develop those around her to achieve excellence in their roles and support our most critical partners in this work – teachers, students, and families.
